Judith continues: “We used to receive paper invoices, which we had to process manually. Or we’d get them by email, have to print them ourselves, stamp them, and then scan them back in. We’d then manually enter the document numbers and other invoice details. Of course, the card ledgers were also maintained manually. And while we did have expense claims software, it didn’t work at all.” In short: Buurtzorg’s expense processes had plenty of room for improvement.
